Willow Springs 2017

Attention Performance Car Owners,

Open Track & Driver Education at the Streets of Willow Springs
Sunday, September 3, 2017

The Los Angeles Shelby American Automobile Club will be hosting it's world-famous open track event at the Streets of Willow Springs on Sunday, Sept 3, 2017... the day before Labor Day.  A lot of  you responded to the previous email (Thank You!)... so, we're rewarding all early signer-uppers with a low, low driver's fee of $115 members / $125 non-members... thru this month... which includes a post-event BBQ.  Please see the attached registration form!

We will be starting the day as early as possible... so everyone gets maximum track-time... approximately 9 AM till 5 PM... which translates to of 6 or 7 twenty-minute sessions per run group thru-out the day... And, yes... we will once again be running "the bowl".  All makes of cars are welcome... owning a Shelby or Ford is not a requirement, all you really need is a desire and interest to exercise your car at speed in a safe environment.

Our non-profit club has organized many, many open track events at the Streets of Willow Springs since 1991.  We are oriented to the car owner who wants to exercise their car in a safe environment with primarily street driven cars.  Our driving instructors volunteer their time and they are made available to everyone at no additional charge.  Two of our instructors, Bruce Kawaguchi and Dan Walters, have been VARA B-Production Champions.  We have maintained a problem-free and safe record of track operation due to our diligent oversight and focus on safety.  Other organized track events have not been as problem free.

We run three run groups: Advanced / Intermediate / Novice and limit attendance to avoid over-crowding on the track.  We offer an opportunity for any level of experience to come out and have a great time in a safe environment.  We provide experienced corner-workers to let you know of any potential problems while you're out on the track... others do not.
Safety is still our most important consideration.
We require the car owner to attest to the safety of their vehicle using our "self-tech" form and then provide tech inspection at the track to double-check your vehicle for safe operation.  We require drivers to wear a SNELL approved helmet with an SA-2000 or later rating.  And, a metal-bracketed fire extinguisher that is securely fastened, bolted or double hose-clamped to SOMETHING SUBSTANTIAL within driver’s reach.

Spectators are welcomed and encouraged to come watch.

Please see attached registration form!
